Frequently Asked Questions

01

I'm not a quilter but I have a quilt question. Who do I contact?

Thank you for caring about your heirloom and for considering our help! We love all quilts and several of our members make their skills available by offering quilt-related services. Please refer to the above menu and select "Quilt Shops & Services" for more information.

02

Where and when do we meet?

The Etowah Valley Quilt Guild meets at the Cartersville Civic Center on the third Tuesday of each month (with a few exceptions, see our events page for more info) beginning with a social time at 6:30pm and meeting following at 7pm.

03

Can I just visit a meeting to see if I like it?

Yes, of course! We do have a $5 guest fee that will be applied toward your membership dues ($30 annually) if you decide to join the guild the night of your visit.

04

I'm a new quilter, Is that okay?

Absolutely! We all start at the beginning! EVQG has members of all skill & experience levels. A main focus of our wonderful programs committee is on education, while the fellowship, inspiration and support of fellow members helps beginners dive into quilting with confidence.

05

I want to join. Can I sign up online?

Great, we love new members! Unfortunately, we do not offer online sign-up at this time but we will be more than happy to get all your details squared away at the next guild meeting.  To make sure you don't miss anything, plan to arrive during our social time beginning at 6:30pm. And if you print out the membership form (link on the home page) and fill it out before you come we can make joining super speedy!

06

What types of activities are planned for this year?

We keep busy! Guild meetings feature educational demos by keynote speakers on a wide variety of quilting techniques. Each month also includes fabric swaps, mystery & challenge quilt projects, show & tell, charitable donations, and door prize drawings. We have bees that meet independently throughout the month and 4 times each year we hold the ever popular quilt camp. As a group, we create and sell tickets for a fund-raising raffle quilt, and members are constantly working on quilts to display for the big event- our biennial quilt show. Be sure to check out our "events" page for all these details.
