Guild Events

Held several times each year, Quilt Camp is when members gather to quilt, eat and gab. We meet in the Cartersville Civic Center with our sewing machines and current projects ready to get to work (or play). Come for one day or all four, it’s entirely up to you. And since you can leave your machine all set up in our secure, locked room the coming and going is easy and convenient. Camp is a great time to get help or advice about a project, lay out a big quilt top to prep for quilting or just sit back and relax with fun ladies! $10 fee per camp.

Here’s our suggested packing list:

  • dress in layers. It’s difficult to keep everyone happy with one thermostat

  • sewing machine

  • extension cord/power strip

  • personal trash can/bag

  • design wall (or tablecloth)  and clothes pins to hang it. great for viewing your layouts

  • current project

  • sewing supplies for your current project (rotary cutter, ruler, scissors, seam ripper, thread, extra bobbins, pins, needles, spray starch)

  • lunch, snacks, travel coffee mug (we have a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. if you prefer to drink tea, bring your favorite!)

Although these things are provided, many members prefer to bring their own:

  • comfortable chair

  • additional lighting

  • iron/small ironing surface

  • cutting mat (we do not provide a rotary cutter)

The EVQG quilt show is held every other year, usually in October. For 3 days we take over our little civic center and decorate it from top to bottom with beautiful quilts! These quilts are grouped by genre and members bring decorations to cozy-up our space, making it a delightfully charming and totally unique show.

Instead of our regular guild meeting, we have a party at the end of each year. We draw for door prizes provided by the Guild Board, showoff our latest completed quilts, share some tales and laughs and many, many hugs are exchanged. It’s truly a special evening shared with friends and a chance to relax together during the busiest time of the year. This is a catered event with a small fee.
